Running with Minimalist Shoes

Barefoot running and minimalist shoes have been popular among some runners.  With proper training, this can be an alternative to running with standard shoes.  However, there has not been any scientific research that supports the possible health benefits that some shoe makers have advertised.  Vibram recently settled a class-action lawsuit against its claims that its minimalist shoes can decrease foot injuries and strengthen foot muscles.
